After a wonderful 35-year teaching career with the Near North District School Board, Connie is excited to open her private music studio Music by the Lake in Corbeil.

Connie has a B.A. (Music Major) from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education (Music-Vocal) from Western University and is in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).

She has Grade 8 Piano and Grade 3 Harmony from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Connie is a member of Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association– North Bay Branch (ORMTA).

Connie has taught music classes to many Primary/ Junior students throughout her teaching career. She has conducted school choirs, played piano for many school assemblies, helped children write their own music and perform.

In the community, she has been a piano accompanist for church services, Kiwanis Festivals, Gateway Theatre Guild and conducted church choirs. Currently, she is an active ukulele player with the Corbeil Ukulele Group and often joins the North Bay Group.

In her younger years, she sang in the university choir, played oboe in many university ensemble groups (small and large), and played oboe in the Northern Symphony conducted by Nurhan Arman. She spent one summer playing an antique pump organ as visitors were guided through Bethune Memorial House National Historic Site - Parks Canada in Gravenhurst.

Music has always been an integral part of her life and she is excited to continue to share her passion with others.
